Proposal: Use Not Listed – Battery Energy Storage System
Description: The Shire of Dandaragan is in receipt of a Development Application for the construction of a Renewable Energy Facility known as the Dinner Hill Windfarm project. The proposal comprises up to 131 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a generation capacity of up to 943 MW, a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) with a capacity of up to 300 MW (4 – 8 hrs), and associated infrastructure. The Project is located on various landholdings north of the Badgingarra Townsite in the Shire of Dandaragan and occupies a Project Area of approximately 30,024 ha.
Plans and documentation (below) are also available for viewing at the Shire Administration Centre, 69 Bashford Street, Jurien Bay.
Submissions may be lodged at the Shire Office or via dsr@dandaragan.wa.gov.au by 4.00pm (WST) Friday 20 November 2026.
