Public Notice - Badgingarra Recreation Precinct Masterplan Community Consultation
The Shire of Dandaragan is seeking community feedback on the Badgingarra Recreation Precinct Masterplan.
The masterplan will help guide future improvements to an important community space, supporting sport, recreation, events and community connection.
Key design considerations include:
- Existing building – minimise expansion of the existing building where possible to avoid the need for fire hydrant reassessment. Any proposed expansion would need to be fire isolated.
- Mezzanine area – make better use of and activate the currently under-used mezzanine area.
- Function room and tennis area – improve the visual and physical connection between the function room and tennis area.
- Outdoor spaces – activate the area between the recreation centre and tennis courts to create a more functional and inviting space.
- Level changes – incorporate practical, usable features into the design to address changes in ground level.
- Existing facilities – retain and reuse existing facilities where practical, including the kitchen.
- Ablutions – upgrade the existing ablution facilities to meet current compliance requirements.
- Children’s playground – realign playground infrastructure at the precinct to provide good passive observation from surrounding areas.
- Gym – establish a location for a gym provided by the Parron Wind Farm that can be re-purposed for a community building when use is finished. The indicative location is subject to final development approvals and micro-siting but links into existing key infrastructure and footpath network.
- Staging – indicated based on scale and logical implementation but subject to funding availability.

- 4:30pm–6:00pm Tuesday 29 September 2026
- 11:30am–1:00pm Thursday 1 October 2026
