Notice of Public Advertisement – Amendment to Development Approval for Parron Wind Farm
The local government has received an application to amend an existing Development Approval for the Parron Wind Farm and public comments are invited.
Address: ‘Parron Place’ comprising Lots 3738, 3739, 3742, 3743, 3744 in the Badgingarra and Hill River localities.
Proposal: Use Not Listed – Renewable Energy Facility
Description
Key points include:
- Reduction in the overall number of wind turbines from 79 to 78.
- It is proposed to amend the layout of 58 turbines within permitted micro-siting parameters (up to 300m) and in compliance with required setbacks.
- The reason for the repositioning of some turbines is to respond to environmental and cultural heritage considerations and to avoid required transmission line easements.
- It should be noted that separate, subsequent, development approval (s) will be required for any proposed battery storage, substation, and/or workforce accommodation.

Submissions may be lodged at the Shire Office or via dsr@dandaragan.wa.gov.au by 4.00pm Friday 15th May, 2026.
