The Shire of Dandaragan is seeking applications from motivated individuals for the position of Plant Operator based at our Operations Centre in Dandaragan. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive local government team committed to maintaining and improving community infrastructure. About the Role As a Plant Operator, you’ll be part of a dedicated crew responsible for the construction, maintenance, and repair of roads and other Shire assets. Key duties include operating a range of earthmoving equipment and heavy plant, grading gravel roads and maintaining street verges, drainage, and signage, supporting the upkeep of parks, gardens, waste facilities, and public spaces, assisting with traffic control and depot maintenance.
What You’ll Need To be considered for this role, applicants must hold a current HC class driver’s licence, with an MC licence viewed favourably. Experience operating heavy machinery including loaders, skid steers, backhoes, and trucks is essential, along with a demonstrated ability to work safely, follow instructions, and contribute effectively within a team environment. A Construction Safety Awareness Training Card (White Card) is required, and a Chainsaw Certificate would be advantageous.
