Proposed Tarmac Motorsport Event

The Shire of Dandaragan has received an application to host a new motorsport event, Tarmac Jurien Bay, proposed to be held over the first weekend in May 2027.

As part of the Shire's assessment process, we are seeking feedback from residents, businesses and the wider community before any decision is made.

The proposed event would feature a number of activities across the weekend, including:

  • A closed-road tarmac rally through the Jurien Bay Heights/Alta Mare area on the Saturday;
  • A town run closed-road stage through Jurien Bay on the Sunday; and
  • A community event along the Jurien Bay Foreshore, providing opportunities for local businesses, community groups and market vendors to participate also on the Sunday.

To safely facilitate the event, temporary road closures and traffic management measures would be implemented at various times throughout the weekend. Should the event proceed, advance notice of all road closures, access arrangements and traffic management plans would be provided to affected residents and businesses.

As this is the first time this event has been proposed for Jurien Bay, the Shire is committed to understanding community views before determining whether to support the application.

We encourage you to review the information available, including relevant maps and provide your feedback. Whether you support the proposal, have concerns, or would like to suggest ways the event could be improved, your comments will assist the Shire in assessing the application.
