IMPOUNDED ANIMALS

The Shire has an Animal Management Facility (pound) 22 Carmella Street, Jurien Bay.  This facility is not open to the public, appointments can be made to view or collect your pet by calling (08) 9652 0800.

My animal is in the Pound, what do i do now?

Before your animal can be released:

  • Poundage must be paid.
  • Registration must be paid (if not registered).
  • All cats need to be sterilised. Evidence must be provided for sterilisation prior to release.

All fees can be paid at the Shire of Dandaragan Administration Office, or by direct arrangement with a Ranger out of business hours by phoning (08) 9652 0800.

Pound fees

$115 poundage, plus $21.00 sustenance fee per day.

All fees are payable at the Shire office and your animal must be registered prior to collection.

Fees and registration may be payable to Rangers on weekends and on Public Holidays if arranged prior with the on-call Ranger. There are no eftpos facilities or cash kept on the premises at the Pound. It is strictly cash only and the exact amount must be presented.

Proof of registration, sterilisation and microchip confirmation must also be provided.

Animals will not be released to owners if the owner does not have an adequate leash/carry cage when collecting.

Pound hours of operation

Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm.

Your pet will not be released until a receipt for all the applicable fees and proof of a microchip/sterilisation booking (if necessary) has been presented.
