Serious pest found in Shire of Dandaragan and surrounding Shires

European House Borer (EHB) has now been found in the Shires of Gingin, Dandaragan, Carnamah and Coorow, further north than previously known.

EHB is a serious pest of seasoned (dead/dry) pinewood with the potential to cause damage to your home.

Help stop the spread by keeping an eye out for oval shaped holes about 5mm long and running with the grain, on dead pine trees, logs, branches or (untreated) pine timber. Keep your property clear of dead pine material (which hosts EHB) and don’t remove dead pine material (such as firewood) from your property unless you are sure it is not infested with EHB.
