Notification of Prescribed Burn

Published on Monday, 6 April 2020 at 10:34:52 AM

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), Parks and Wildlife Service is responsible for using planned fire to achieve community and asset protection, and land, forest and wildlife management objectives.

The department uses planned fire to manage these natural ecosystems in order to maintain the biological diversity of habitats and species richness, and to protect life, community assets and natural resources from damage by uncontrolled fire.

Please be advised that in the event of favourable weather conditions a prescribed burn in proximity to the Jurien Bay townsite will be undertaken in either the autumn, winter or spring of 2020. Please find attached a map showing the proposed burn area and its positioning in the landscape.

Please contact Acting District Fire Coordinator, Jessica Henriques at the Jurien Bay Office on 08 9688 6000 if you have any queries.
