At the 28 June 2018 Ordinary Council Meeting, the North Head Radar Station Excavation Report, prepared by Archaeologists from Heritage Detection Australia, was received by Council.

The Report outlines findings that determined the functions of individual structures, the extent of the installation, both residential and administrative, as well as other elements such as communications and drainage.  The Report also provided information on an additional Army Camp and determined the approximate location of 8 additional structures, examined 4 deposits and established their relationship to the original site, excavated and recorded 5 trenches, provided a tentative boundary for the site, and located potential cultural deposits.

Through a comparative analysis of the cultural material at the two sites the HDA team was able to help determine the nature of what day-to-day life was like for personnel serving at the site.
