HOLIDAY HOMES LOCAL PLANNING POLICY ADOPTED BY COUNCIL

Published: Monday, 29 October 2018 at 1:38:59 PM

At the October Council Meeting the Holiday Homes Local Planning Policy was adopted.

The Shire consulted widely to ensure that the broad consensus was reached for short-stay accommodation providers, guests and the wider community. The final policy has evolved based on consultation with key accommodation industry stakeholders and submissions received during the completed advertising period.

The Shire’s decision comes ahead of the State Government’s support for a state-wide inquiry into the level of regulation of short-stay accommodation and matters such as customer safety, insurance, land use planning, building standards, stay length, neighbourhood amenity, registration, licensing and taxation, which was also identified by the Shire of Dandaragan.

The Shire of Dandaragan is pleased to be supporting the legitimacy of this important industry within our area.
