Change to Campfire and Cooking Fire Conditions

Following an assessment of grassland curing, from 12:01 AM Friday 14 October, camping and cooking fires will no longer be permitted in the Sandy Cape Reserve and Campground for the duration of the fire season, until 31 March 2023.

Please note that campfires are not permitted year round on all beaches and other Shire reserves and overnight rest stops within the Shire.

The Shire's Camping and Cooking Fire Policy may allow you to have a fire at your permanent residence if it aligns with the guidelines- these can be viewed at the link below.
