2009/2010 Fees and Charges

Asbestos

Asbestos is only accepted at the Jurien Bay Waste Management Facility.

Please call the coordinator on 0408 096 117 to arrange a suitable time to dispose.

A minimum charge of $72.00 applies to all quantities of asbestos.

White Goods

 White goods are free of charge if they have been degassed. The gas in many whitegoods is harmful to the environment and the Shire must degas them before they are removed from the site for recycling.

Customers can degas their whitegoods prior to bringing them to the landfill sites and dispose of them for free or pay the $15.00 fee for the Shire to arrange the degassing. Please note a certificate from a licenced refrigeration degasser may be required in order to be exempt from the fee.

Problematic Waste

 Problematic Waste includes waste that requires additional handling to the general refuse once it arrives at the waste management facilities ie animal carcasses or construction waste that requires further processing
