Waste Management

In the 2001/2002 financial year, Council established the Cervantes Waste Transfer Station. Work commenced on the infrastructure at the Jurien Bay Landfill and Recycling Centre to allow for this site and Cervantes site to be manned with restricted access to be opened simultaneously. Both sites will be manned and a recycling program was implemented in September 2002.

Dandaragan and Badgingarra landfill sites will receive further attention and it is proposed that these sites will be manned in 2004/05 so that similar waste practices are duplicated at these sites in terms of separation of waste and recycling.
