Additional Information

The Caravan and Camping Regulations 1997, were introduced to allow Local Government more control over the issues associated with casual campers such as; litter, unauthorised fires causing bushfires, vehicles contributing to erosion and other environmental degradaton which can result from some campers actions. The general camper is very aware of the environment and behaves in a responsible manner.  The laws have been introduced to help mange those people who show no regard for the environment or other campers and visitors.

To be able to legally camp in the Shire, written permission from the owner of the land you plan to camp is required. If you wish to stay any longer than three nights, that will have to be stated in the letter of permission. It is strongly advised that such written permission be obtained prior to your camping stay and carried with you.
