Department of Water - Farm Water Grants Scheme

The State Government’s Farm Water Grants Scheme helps farmers who have a serious on-farm water deficiency.

Grants available to broadacre farmers under the Scheme have now increased from $15,000 to $20,000, to help improve on-farm water supplies and infrastructure.  To provide further assistance for farmers, their responsibility for contribution to the cost of works has been lowered from 50 percent to 30 percent under the new arrangements.

Broadacre farmers located in 1 of the 7 zones are eligible to apply for grants to improve on-farm water supplies whether that’s by building a new dam and catchment, or installing a bore or rain tank.

Farms connected to a piped water scheme are not eligible to apply.

For the further information contact Rural Water – Freecall Infoline on 1 800 780 300, email ruralwater@water.wa.gov.au or visit http://portal.water.wa.gov.au/portal/page/portal/WaterRegionalRuralWA/RuralWaterPlanning/FarmWaterGrants  for an application form and brochure.

Australian Government Envirofund - Caring For Our Country

Consequently, it is refocusing its natural resource management programs in the new Caring for Our Country initiative to better target national priorities.

Caring for our Country will commence on 1 July 2008 and, for the first time, will bring together delivery of a raft of Commonwealth programs into an integrated package with one clear goal, a business approach to investment, clearly articulated outcomes and priorities and improved accountability.
